Now that Google came out with its new report on how it ranks websites, mortgage brokers and real estate agents have the ability to take over their local online market. The spam sites that so many “lead generators” have been using in the past will be taking a big hit in the near future, opening doors of opportunity to you.
Whether you have been generating leads online or don’t have a clue where to start, if you are an ethical business person, you stand to prosper greatly on Google. Just like any other business venture, you have to put your time in and build the foundation in order to make an impact online.
One item that Google mentions in its new report is the importance of high quality link and the link text that links back to your website. Everybody online used to run around exchanging links with everybody else. Now Google is telling us to be careful because if your link appears in link farms or “spam” websites you may get your website banned from the Google search engine. Be careful where you choose to place your links.
Keyword density also plays another important role on how your website will rank in the Google search engine. Too much density of a keyword, on your website or linking to your website, might just run you out of the rankings. Too little density of a keyword, on your website or linking to your website, will not help your rankings much either. The key is to have a variety of keywords, within your website and linking to your website, to achieve successful rankings in the Google search engine.
Google is also beginning to look at Click Through Ratios (CTR’S) to determine the value of your website’s content to the people who visit your website. The more pages a visitor clicks through on your website will help your rankings not only for your home page but also for the most visited page.
Another tip is to have quality content that is updated on a regular basis. In the mortgage and real estate industry, the news changes almost on a daily basis. Whether it is another lender going out of business or home values decreasing, Google and your visitors want to know what is going on.
